Appointment Setting: Is it Any Easier These Days?
When you want a meeting with a person, how does one go about it? Does your Personal assistant take a note? Do you send a message by snail mail? Could there really be pretrained courier birds in your attic room? Possibly there is some old retainer of the family ready to step out of the door? Do you prefer to personally call them? That's doubtful.
There are just so many new digital approaches available these days to talk with. Electronic Mail is the most used by industry. There's no problem with this if the contact is using a device that receives electronic mail. As long as it is turned on and they read the messages. Some people do have alerts to tell them when a communication arrives but they most likely will not want to view it.
Some of the problems with emails are crystal clear. Many of us do not want to be tied to the pc right through the day or when they are do not want to go through dozens of messages. To prevent this they turn everything off that they aren't using. If they are not on a computer they might have a phone but find it hard to read emails on their mobile. Those found on a computer might be very busy working so wont read them immediately.
Then there is Facebook Or Twitter. You may love it or hate it but it is useful sometimes for getting to people and can be very annoying. We may not use it a great deal. The chatter is invasive and annoying. We might not want to read it as moving around. We might not want to get distracted by the many conversations that simply make you want to participate.
Text Message is often utilised but is not suitable for new relationships. Even well-known acquaintances may be too pre-occupied to answer. Also smartphones get turned off for meetings, and are often hard to use when travelling.
How then can you successfully make that important appointment? The most important thing though is not to have an instantaneous reply but just to have a response. A new prospective client would not bother to respond to an answer phone communication. You can though employ a telesales agency to take on the appointment setting They would make sure they speak to the appropriate individual and make the appointment for you. Phones are quite an old technology but they are still the best way to make meetings.
